Guided Lower Stanislaus Family Float Trips, Class II Easy
GENERAL:
The guided Lower Stanislaus tour goes from Knights Ferry to Orange Blossom
Park. This tour is designed for the safety-minded river traveler, families with
small children, and those seeking total relaxation. The scenery along this
stretch is spectacular and includes such sights as "Two Bluffs"
volcanic area, "Lovers Leap" and plenty of rolling countryside. Your
guide will cover topics such as river navigation, plant and wildlife
interpretation, and Indian lore as you float through several small rapids on
this 4-5 hour tour. This trip includes a scrumptious riverside lunch at the
half-way point.
MEETING TIME:
Trips are available daily April-October by reservation. Trip meeting time is
usually 10AM unless otherwise noted. Guests should check in 10-15 minutes prior
to their trip.
MEETING PLACE:
Trips meet at the US Army Corps of Engineers Visitor Information Center.
The center is located approx. 1 mile off Hwy 120 in the small town of Knights
Ferry 12 miles east of Oakdale, CA. Driving times are: From SF-2:15, Stockton-55
min., Modesto-35 minutes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
We recommend that all guests be at least 3 years of age.
RESERVATIONS:
Advance reservations are required. Most weekend dates book out in advance.
Last minute reservations are accepted when space permits. A 50% advance deposit
will hold your reservation until 14 days prior to our trip. Full payment is due
at that time.
RATES:
Your trip fee includes a professional guide, gourmet deli-style lunch,
paddles, life vests, boat(s), and return shuttle for your drivers. Call for
rates.
REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS:
A full refund can be made with at least 14 days prior notice. After that,
credits will be issued for a future trip date in the same season. Our raft trips
go rain or shine. Trips will be canceled only in extreme weather conditions. In
this case, you may either reschedule your tour or receive a full refund.
SAFETY:
All participants are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life vest
that we provide.
WHAT TO BRING:
You will get wet so bring an extra set of clothes, shoes, and towel to be
left in your vehicle. The following items are recommended for your trip:
sneakers, bathing suit or shorts, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses (with leash). A
windbreaker is recommended for cool or rainy days.
CAMERAS:
Cameras may be taken at owners risk but are not recommended.
